DEUQUA 2022 - Connecting Geoarchives

The DEUQUA-conference 2022 is organised by the German Quaternary Association (DEUQUA – Deutsche Quartärvereinigung) and the Section Climate Dynamics and Landscape Evolution of the GFZ Potsdam and will take place in Potsdam from 25 to 29 September 2022. The organisation is supported by the Geo.X research network for geosciences in Berlin and Potsdam.

One focus of this conference is new approaches to the integration and synchronisation of terrestrial and marine geoarchives in order to investigate regional differences in Quaternary climate and environmental changes with greater precision. Further topics of the conference are climate in warm phases of the Quaternary, as well as anthropogenic influences in sedimentary archives and geomorphological processes as a consequence of climate and environmental change. In addition, a special session on applied and regional Quaternary geological topics will be offered.  Lecture and poster sessions will be introduced with keynote lectures. The programme also includes pre- and post-excursions and a public evening lecture.

The conference is open to scientists interested in all fields of Quaternary Sciences and especially young scientists are invited to participate!

We are planning the DEUQUA-conference 2022 as a face-to-face event according to the then applicable requirements of the Federal Government, the State of Brandenburg and the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences.
