From Silos to Systems: Managing Multi-Risk, Multi-Sector Infrastructure Challenges

WHEN: November 4th, 2025, 9:30 – 16:30

WHERE:EINS, TU Berlin Center for Entrepreneurship, Hardenbergstr. 38, 10623 Berlin

SHORT DESCRIPTION: The workshop “From Silos to Systems: Managing Regional Multi-Risk, Multi-Sector Infrastructure Challenges”, developed under the Berlin-Oxford research partnership (Berlin University Alliance) and Geo.X, focuses on advancing regional approaches to risk management in interconnected infrastructure systems. It addresses how overlapping and cascading risks, such as climate extremes, resource disruptions, and systemic interdependencies, affect regions and their capacity to respond effectively. Primary focus will be devoted to the intersections of water and transport systems. Bringing together experts from multiple disciplines and sectors, the workshop explores frameworks that integrate data, governance, and modeling tools to strengthen regional resilience. By emphasizing a shift from isolated assessments to coordinated, systems-based strategies, it seeks to enable more adaptive and sustainable management of regional multi-risk.
