CALL FOR PAPERS
The Development Economics Network of Berlin (DENeB) will host its 11th PhD Workshop on Development Economics, to be held on April 17, 2026, in Berlin. The workshop offers PhD students working in development economics the opportunity to present ongoing research and receive constructive feedback in a supportive academic environment.
We are pleased to announce that Karlijn Morsink (Utrecht University) will deliver the keynote lecture.
The workshop will take place at the ISDC – International Security and Development Center in located at Gerichtstr. 49, 13347 Berlin. It is sponsored by the Geo.X network and jointly organized by DENeB members from the University of Potsdam, ISDC, and Humboldt University.
We welcome work in progress, but applications must include either a paper draft or a substantially developed research proposal. Submissions should be at least 1,000 words and provide clear information on the research question, methodology, and data. We welcome contributions from the broad field of development economics, with particular interest in work engaging with the development-climate nexus.
PhD students from all institutions are invited to apply, with particular encouragement for applicants affiliated with Geo.X partner institutions. Interested candidates should apply HERE by February 27, 2026. Applicants will be notified by March 13, 2026.
