Abstract:
Modern advancements in numerical simulations and high-resolution sensor systems have led to a significant increase in the amount of data being generated. However, the growing size of these data volumes has posed several challenges when it comes to analyzing and interpreting the data. These challenges include limited local resources, difficulties in accessing remote high-performance computing (HPC) systems, and the scalability of involved software tools. As a result, the efficient and effective analysis and visualization of these valuable "data treasures" often remain unrealized.
To address these issues, the VisPlore project aims to establish a distributed software infrastructure within DLR. This infrastructure will enable efficient analysis of large scientific datasets through interactive visualization methods. By integrating high-performance computers for fast data access and massively parallel data processing, users will be able to perform interactive visual data analysis at their own workstations. The presentation will provide an introduction to the project idea, present current results, and outline possible future work.
