The Geo.X Young Academy from 2016 to 2022
Founded in 2016 and funded by the Helmholtz Association until 2022, two successful fellow cohorts completed the Young Academy. While the first cohort focused on the interface of Geo- and Data Science, the second group included two focal issues; Geo.Data Science and Geo.Society.
The Academy at a glance
In the first cohort, we received 322 applications across three calls. Among them, 41 candidates were invited for interviews, and 15 fellows were selected for funding. Additionally, seven fellows joined the cohort with their own funding.
Moving on to the second cohort, we received 126 applications through a single call. Out of these, 26 candidates were invited for interviews, and 14 were selected for funding. Furthermore, 16 fellows joined the cohort with their own funding.
In total, both cohorts published 249 papers.
