Dear colleagues,
The Junior Research Group Hi-CliF, the Network for Disaster Risk and Health supported by Geo-X cordially invite you to our upcoming workshop:
Multi-Risk of Extreme Weather Events
Summary: As climate change and urbanization rapidly alter the risk landscape, a comprehensive understanding of disaster risk dynamics is crucial. Currently, the impacts of extreme weather events are often studied in isolation, limiting insight into their interconnected effects. There is a gap in understanding how cascading impacts—across economic, social, and health sectors—are triggered and amplified. Bridging this gap is key to developing effective adaptation strategies, improving early warning systems, and enhancing disaster relief. This workshop will bring together interdisciplinary researchers from economics, social sciences, natural sciences, and public health to foster collaborative solutions and identify shared goals and best practices.
When: Thursday, June 12 13:00 to Friday, June 13 2025 14:00
Where: Einstein Center for Digital Future (ECDF), Berlin
We invite researchers from all fields who are interested in contributing to the discussion. In order to have an interdisciplinary exchange, we aim to organize interactive sessions to brainstorm complementing topics and approaches.
Please register by May 23rd over the following link: https://events.hifis.net/event/2373
