The ESA Data User Element DUE Permafrost aims to establish a permafrost monitoring service based on operational remote sensing datasets. The satellite-derived products (on regional to circum-polar scales) which are specifically addressed are land surface temperature, surface soil moisture, surface frozen/thawed state, surface waters, terrain (elevation and subsidence), and land cover.
