Geo.X School 2015 - Methods in Geosciences

The Geo.X School 2015 “Methods in Geosciences” is open to all young scientists who are looking for new methodological knowledge and skills. We invite participants from the Earth sciences to attend courses from a broad range of geoscientific research methods. Each course will focus on integrating theory and practical applications. The language of instruction is English.

Topics include climate modeling, process modeling, microanalysis, systematics of cosmogenic nuclides, hydrothermal systems, scientific drilling, rock deformation, geodata applications, astrobiological methods, exploratory data analysis, and time series analysis.

The Geo.X School runs five days in Berlin and Potsdam from September 28 to October 2, 2015. The program is organized modularly with parallel and consecutive courses, i.e. more than one course can be booked as long as they do not meet at concurrent times. 

The Geo.X School starts with the registration and icebraker party on Monday, September 28 at the IASS in Potsdam. The School closes with a joint closing event at the Technical University in Berlin on Friday October 2, 2015.

Fee:

35 € for Graduate (minimum bachelor degree) and PhD Students
55 € for PostDocs

The fee stays the same regardless how many courses you apply for. The fee includes

  • hand-out materials from the courses
  • beverages between the sessions-breaks
  • 7-days ticket for public transportation in the Berlin/Brandenburg area
  • Geo.X School icebreaker party and closing event

Not included is lunch. There will be lunch facilities at the research institutes which usually offer fair prices.

Participants need to cover lodging and travel expenses on their own.
