Dear colleagues from the Geo.X network

We would like to invite you to join us and external guests in a Geo.X Grow Your Idea Workshop on Arctic soil biogeochemistry: interactions between plants, microorganisms and soil minerals of permafrost affected soils under climate change

When: Nov 11-13, 2024

Where: GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, A71, seminar room

Please note that we can only host a limited number of participants (max. 20). We therefore kindly ask you to provide us with a few sentences on why you are interested in participating and how your expertise could contribute to the aims of the workshop.

Summary:

This intensive 2-day workshop shall form a nucleus of expertise, ideas and approaches delving into the complex world of Arctic permafrost soils under the threat of climate change. We will explore the intricate interplay between plants, microbes, and soil minerals, and how it governs the fate of organic matter under a warming climate. Based on this workshop we want to develop a framework for a white paper and for future collaboration with the aim to establish a holistic view on Arctic soil functioning.
