"Atmospheric blocking and environmental extremes - past, present, future"

funded by the "Geo.X - Grow your Ideas" call. The aim of our workshop is to develop future collaborations between different Geo.X partners on the topic of atmospheric blockings, focusing on the interactions of blockings with different types of extreme events and the underlying physical mechanisms on different spatial and temporal scales (see also the teaser in the attachment).

Workshop structure

Introduction     Ulrike Herzschuh (AWI, Section Polar Terrestrial Environmental Systems)
Dörthe Handorf (AWI, Section Atmospheric Physics)

Keynote presentations by
Stephan Pfahl (FU Berlin, Institute for Meteorology)
Henning Rust (FU Berlin, Institute for Meteorology)
