We are looking for Fellows who are motivated in learning and doing new things, exploring new ways and want to drive research in Earth System and Data Sciences forward. You are expected to participate and engage in the joint activities throughout the NFDI4Earth Academy and within NFDI4Earth.

Whether you are an Earth System Scientist, who wants to integrate or already integrates Data Sciences in your project, or a Data Scientist (or other scientist), working on a Earth System Science related question, you are welcome to join the Academy!

The core program includes 3 events per year (for details see here). Depending on the individual needs of the Fellows, at least three additional events are possible.

No, the Academy program does not include fundings for research activities. We only cover event costs and, depending on availability, travel costs.

First, research thrives through exchange. Therefore, meeting and connecting with other scientists provides the basis for new ideas, opportunities, collaborations and is indispensable for a scientific career.

Second, participation and affiliation with networks, especially large ones as the NFDI4Earth, and the certificate gained through the Academy, are a boost for your CV.

Third, you will learn new professional skills and methods to advance your research.

No. Please upload all documents in a single pdf file less than 4 MB through the online application form.

Unfortunately it is not possible to add any documents to your final application. The only possibility is to delete it completely, then you have to fill out the application form again. In this case contact Jonas Kuppler (jonas.kuppler@gfz-potsdam.de).
