It is our pleasure to announce that Dr. Jin Zhang of the University of New Mexico will give the Lecture:

“Chemical mixing and mantle convection driven (or hindered) by eclogite in the terrestrial planets”

This is one of the only five COMPRES 2021 Distinguished Lectures for the whole year 2021.

COMPRES (https://compres.unm.edu) is the consortium for Materials Properties Research in Earth Sciences. It is a community-based consortium joining 67 US member institutions and 50 affiliates institutions and research groups all over the world. 

Dr Zhang has been nominated Distinguished Lecturer for this year.

The virtual lecture will be given as a ZOOM meeting on 6th of May 2021 at 4 pm CET.

 All the scientists and students of the Geo.X Community interested in joining the lecture should please register by sending an e-mail to 

cvl2021@gfz-potsdam.de 

The e-mail should contain the following information:

(a) Name, 

(b) Surname,

(c) Affiliation and 

(d) E-mail address.


Deadline for registration is 28th of April 2021 6 pm CET.


The meeting is limited to 300 persons: first come, first serve.
On the 4th of May 2021 we will send the link to join the meeting.
