Welcome to the graduate research school GeoSim

The graduate research school GeoSim is funded by the Helmholtz association and grants from its home institutions: GFZ Potsdam, Freie Universit├Ąt Berlin and Universit├Ąt Potsdam. Earth scientists and mathematicians from these institutions have joined forces to provide training and conduct research in the field of Explorative Simulation in Earth Sciences.

Our goal is to train a new generation of outstanding young scientists based on a strong collaboration systematically linking methodological expertise from the areas of Earth and Mathematical Sciences.

GeoSim started on April 1st, 2011 and will end on 31 March 2017. A total of 42 PhD students from 10 countries and 3 continents are and have been working on subjects ranging from climate to hydrology to solid earth. See the 'About' pages for more information. Current GeoSim students present their projects here and information about our alumni may be found here!

The final application round has now been closed. Thanks to all applicants for their interest.
