Project 2: Tectonics and Aftershocks
This project focuses on the processes in the Outer Rise and along the updip end of the seismogenic zone. Because of the offshore location of these regions land-based observations are of limited use , such that an ocean-bottom seismic network provides the main source of data for this project. In this project, detailed locations will be derived for updip and outer rise seismicity, and focal mechanisms will be determined in order to evaluate the state-of-stress.
